The management of the affairs of ACGC is vested in a Board of Directors, consisting of members with varying areas of expertise relevant to the process of accreditation.

Term: Four years, with an option to renew for an additional two years.

The ACGC Communications Committee is charged with overseeing communications involving the ACGC and enabling transparency in the accreditation process for graduate programs in genetic counseling. This entails creating and overseeing the annual strategic communication plan, website, annual report, submissions to genetic counseling publications, and other tasks related to communication with our stakeholders.

Term: Three years, beginning July 1 and ending June 30.

The Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice Committee is instrumental in revising existing accreditation processes and standards to ensure greater diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice in genetic counseling graduate education. To fulfill these goals, members of this committee work to identify systematic inequities in accreditation of genetic counseling programs, provide recommendations to other ACGC committees regarding DEIJ language, and recommend revisions to policies to encourage embedding DEIJ focus across all ACGC activities and initiatives.

Term: Two years, with an option to renew for one year.

The Finance Committee monitors financial investments, works with an investment advisor under the guidance of the investment policy, and makes recommendations to the Board of Directors regarding fiscal policies.

Term: The President, Secretary/Treasurer, and Immediate Past President serve during their terms of office. All other members serve for two years.

The goal of the ACGC Nominating Committee is to identify a slate of candidates for election to the ACGC Board of Directors.

Term: Term limits are equivalent to one election cycle, but committee members may serve in additional cycles.

The Program Review Committee reviews applications submitted by programs seeking ACGC accreditation. This committee will review accreditation applications to assess whether programs are compliant with the Standards of Accreditation and make recommendation to the Board of Directors regarding the accreditation decisions.

Term: Three years, with an option to serve consecutive terms.

The purpose of the ACGC Standards Committee is to make recommendations to the ACGC Board of Directors as to necessary changes to the Standards of Accreditation for Graduate Programs in Genetic Counseling.

Term: First term is four years, with an option to renew for subsequent terms ranging from one to three years.
